The Insta360 GO 3 is indeed waterproof! Here’s a breakdown of its water resistance:
- Waterproof Rating: The GO 3 itself has an IPX8 waterproof rating. This means it can withstand submersion in water up to a depth of 5 meters (16 feet) for up to 30 minutes without needing a separate housing.
Important Notes:
- Lens Guard: For underwater use, it’s crucial to ensure the included Lens Guard is securely screwed onto the camera. The GO 3 is not waterproof without it.
- Action Pod: The Action Pod, which is a protective case for the GO 3, is not waterproof itself. It offers some protection from rain and splashes when the camera is inside, but it shouldn’t be submerged.
